Clinical Education and Supervision

Who can benefit from clinical education and supervision?

Clinical education and supervision are available for clinicians at all stages of their career; especially early‑career clinicians, those new to laryngectomy, tracheostomy, dysphagia or instrumental assessment, and clinicians working in rural, remote or sole practitioner roles. Support is tailored to your scope of practice, workplace context and learning goals.

Areas of clinical focus

Supervision can focus on laryngectomy and tracheostomy management, dysphagia assessment (including videofluoroscopy and FEES), and voice and upper airway disorders. We can also work through complex, medically fragile adult presentations where decision‑making feels challenging.

Types of supervision available

I offer one‑to‑one supervision, small group or team sessions, and case consultations or second opinions. Support can be provided as a one‑off review or as an ongoing supervision package, depending on what you and your service need.

What we can work on together

Together we can build skills in case formulation, clinical reasoning and interpreting instrumental assessments such as VFSS and FEES. We can also focus on treatment planning, goal setting, documentation, report writing and outcome measures that reflect functional change.

Supporting safe, evidence-based practice

Supervision is grounded in current evidence and practical clinical experience, with a focus on safe, person‑centred care. Sessions can include discussion of risk management, escalation pathways and how to work effectively with the multidisciplinary team in complex situations.

Education for services and teams

I provide education for hospital, community and residential care teams, including in‑service training and tailored workshops. Topics can include laryngectomy and tracheostomy care, dysphagia management and building local pathways for instrumental swallow assessment.

Delivery options

Supervision and education can be delivered online or, where appropriate, on‑site within your service. We can agree on the frequency, duration and structure of sessions so they fit around clinical workloads and service needs.

Costs

Costs will vary depending on the amount of preparation and length of the supervision or education session. A detailed quote can be provided once we have discussed your individual needs.
